Since 2023, flana has been creating music and handmade works under the name “flana.” In June 2025, flana participated in the compilation album Water Bodies by the Berlin-based label Gravity Pleasure. In the same year, flana began performing live more actively, continuing to expand the scope of their activities.
1. A track that inspired you to start making music?
POiSON GiRL FRiEND – FACT2
I played this track at a venue called soto, where anyone could freely play music. That was when I discovered the joy of sharing the sounds we love with others.
The people who were around me at that time are still people I deeply admire.

3. A track you listen to while walking?
trickpony – No/Direction
A deep sense of floating, it makes me want to take the long way around.
4. What were you listening to in high school?
Crumb – Locket
When I hear the intro now, it brings back memories of a blue kind of restlessness and the boredom of everyday life.
I feel like I was always looking toward somewhere that wasn’t here.
5. A track you listen to before going to sleep?
Oh, Yoko – Seashore
It feels like being wrapped in soft clothing, in a place of absolute safety.
Like a dream you see while still awake.

6. A track that recently inspired you?
Takeo.K – call me (when yr heart is empty)
It carried a scent very close to the images that were swirling inside me at the time.
It felt like scattered particles were gradually connecting.
7. A track you often listen to while creating?
ebilen – aeon
When I encounter someone’s transparent, unguarded sensibility, something within it becomes a catalyst. And I can simply surrender myself to that subtle wavering.
8. A track that feels close to your view?
ACO – Kūhaku no Tane
Sometimes the vast, vague emptiness I always feel inside makes me sad,
and sometimes it makes me happy.

10. A track that makes you feel connected to others?
uami – tense
I had always listened to this song alone. But when I sang it together with uami at Flame, it felt like a very distant place I could no longer recall had suddenly connected with where I was in that moment.
Deep inside my body, somewhere that isn’t here, another version of myself felt like crying. It was a strange feeling.
