1. What’s the last song you listened to?
Peter Pan (피터팬) – Kitchen K x Young West x Kenayeboi x Rinoh
I’ve loved this song ever since I first heard it in high school. Every now and then, I remember it and come back to it.
2. What do you listen to while getting ready to go out?
guancho guancho man – dolo2000
It always gets me in the mood.
3. What do you listen to while driving?
Bluffin (feat. Jwitdabeam & 645AR) – 10kdunkin
I think it’s one of the defining early plugg classics. The bass feels incredible.
4. What was the first hip-hop song you ever heard?
BLACK OUT (feat. Namie Amuro & Lil Wayne) – VERBAL
I discovered this in 2011, when I was in fifth grade. A yo-yo player I really admired at the time, Hiroyuki Suzuki, used it in one of his performances.
5. What do you listen to after leaving the club?
Kōsaten (Intersection) – Number Collector
After spending time talking to people at the club, listening to Number Collector always helps me unwind. Kōsaten is especially memorable because I helped out on the music video shoot.
6. What’s an older song you love?
Wadatsumi no Ki – Chitose Hajime
I first heard it playing over the speakers at work and ended up getting hooked.
7. A song that reminds you of your hometown?
Get Up, Stand Up – Bob Marley
When I was little, my dad would casually play Bob Marley in the car. I didn’t understand the lyrics, but I used to sing along anyway.
8. What’s a recent favorite you’ve discovered?
kimbers (feat. bloodyfien) – guavbabcia
I found guavbabcia on Instagram recently. They also make clothing, and I honestly think they’re one of the coolest artists around right now.
9. If you had to describe your personality with a song, what would it be?
SoHo – Dar
It’s a song I often listen to because I relate to it on a personal level.
10. What song best matches your current lifestyle?
Manatsu no Kajitsu (Summer Fruit) – Southern All Stars
I moved farther away from the ocean, so these days I find myself listening to it even more. It always makes me want to go back to the sea.
11. What’s one thing all the things you love have in common?
When it comes to music, I’d say it’s the sound of the 808 drum. Maybe I’m just drawn to things that feel mechanical.
